Are you the Owner of an LLC or Corporation? New for 2024

Effective January 1, 2024, the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) will require most business entities to file an initial report with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) to disclose the entity’s beneficial owners.

For a reporting company created before January 1, 2024, an initial report must be filed within one year, or January 1, 2025. Entities created during 2024 will have 90 days to file their initial report. Entities created on or after January 1, 2025 will have 30 days to file their initial report.  Additionally,  an updated report must be filed within 30 days of the change to the information originally reported.

Who needs to file?

Domestic Reporting Companies are corporations, limited liability companies, and any other entities created by the filing of a document with a secretary of state or any similar office in the United States.
